Working Sessions & Weekend

This Humid House is actively developing pedagogy for the advancement of botanical design that is aligned with our studio's creative process. Our practice is not defined by any one style, but rather, an approach that is sensitive to culture, context, and the Now.

We favour learning and teaching frameworks that are non-prescriptive and that, through feedback and critique, result in work that has a compelling point of view.

Working Sessions are our personalised coaching initiative, and take place once a week, over 3 consecutive weeks, at our Singapore headquarters. This learning format aims to help participants gain greater confidence working with botanical material over consistent practice and time, whatever their experience level.

Each 150-minute session begins with a brief topical lecture and an introduction to the week's selection of materials. Guided by our designers, participants will then create and explore their choice of table-based composition. Sessions will conclude with a group critique.

We’ve also introduced Working Weekend, the weekend version of our popular Working Sessions format. The focus for these four 3-hour sessions condensed over two days is on sharpening participants’ point of view through exercises that cover a variety of small to medium formats—from standalone vessels, tablescapes to hanging installations. The day begins at 10am, and each session will conclude with a show-and-tell segment, before we end off at 5pm.
